...'April Fish'...
There are few holidays more disputed than the American holiday of 'April Fool's.'
The date is April 1st. Every year on this day, people across the country try to trick each other with (usually) harmless pranks. But what is the origin of this strange holiday?
Some say that it was a 'joke' played by early Christians upon their Pagan neighbors, an attempt to rewrite the calendar, and legitimize their own religion whilst making the Pagans feel inferior.
Others say that it started with the French tradition of 'Avril Poisson' or 'April Fish.'
Whatever the truth may be, April Fool's Day (also known as 'All Fools Day') is a growing tradition and a source of great fun for (most) of the participants.
